Our Motorcycle Trip Around The Wild Atlantic Way

Mick and Mari Hanly are the proprietors of Glendine Irish Home B&B in Clonakilty, West Cork which is on the route of the new Wild Atlantic Way. Avid motorcycle enthusiasts they recently took on the journey around the Wild Atlantic Way.

Watching the Wild Atlantic Way signs going up all around Clonakilty for the past few months seemed like a gauntlet had been thrown down to our Rosebud, a Honda Goldwing motorcycle that has travelled around Ireland, England and down as far as Monaco.

Accepting the challenge we saddled up Rosebud on the morning of Friday the 6th June and so began the Wild Atlantic Way Odyssey 2014. We reached the starting line in Muff, Co. Donegal on Saturday 7th June and had our first official WAW overnight in Greencastle, Co. Donegal. Thereafter we enjoyed overnights in Downings and Donegal Town, Co. Donegal, Belmullet and Westport, Co. Mayo, Galway City for two nights, Tralee and Kenmare, Co. Kerry and back home to Clonakilty Cork on the 16th June.
