Castletownbere Festival of the Sea 1st - 8th of August

This annual festival in the coastal fishing village of West Cork has, naturally, a great variety of marine themed activities, as well as some linked to their agricultural background and some that are just plain wacky. Pint drinking while wheelbarrow racing comes to mind here. What brave souls are going to take that on?

This is a great week out, popular with the locals, who make sure to get out and enjoy the festivities whenever they can. It not only draws the locals though. Castletownbere has a bustling community that are more than willing to welcome visitors, and if you
