Alison's Green Wood Chairs can be created for the very young to the very old, small baby chairs to grand old Rocking Chairs.

Alison specialises in using “green” or unseasoned Hazel and each chair is created in an environmentally friendly way. Alison carefully selects the wood from the woodlands nearby her studio.

Green Wood Chair Making Courses:
1 and 3 day chair making courses run throughout Spring and Summer months at the only dedicated green wood chair making studio in Ireland.

With only 2 students per course, there is plenty of time for one to one tuition while you learn the skills for designing and making your own chair, using freshly coppiced hazel.
According to teacher Alison Ospina “I believe there is at least one chair in all of us and my job is to inspire and encourage students to create a unique piece of furniture which they will be proud to take home.”

Chair making makes people smile, it is a lot of fun and the location of the Green Wood Chairs studio makes it a very peaceful and relaxing experience. Part of the pleasure comes from tapping in to our creative side, which most of us rarely have an opportunity to explore.
