Sheep's Head - 'The Best!' 2012

Werner and Franziska on the Sheep's Head Way, West Cork

Whilst out downloading information from the trail counters on the Sheep's Head last month I came across two walkers and got talking to them. Before we parted I took their photograph, promising to send it on to them when I was back in the office. Here is the reply that I received from them... I thought I'd share it as, if and when there is negative news we always hear about it, so I thought some positive feedback would be refreshing for everyone!

Dear Arran,

Thank you very much for mailing the photo.

You have to be envied for living in such a beautiful country with its lovely landscapes.

We enjoyed our vacation in Ireland from the first moment. The hosts of our B&Bs were all exceedingly friendly and kind. Actually we wanted to visit the southwest peninsulas of Ireland up to the northwest region. But we changed our mind. The Sheep Head Peninsula, Kerry and the north of Dingle (especially the surroundings of Mt. Brandon) were so beautiful, so we spent all our holiday there. We made terrific hiking tours and boat trips. But the best was the Sheep Head Way.

Irish dishes were great and delicious. We enjoyed the fresh fish, the Sirloin steaks, Seafood Chowder and so on.

The Irish people are so friendly, helpful and full of humor. It
