Kilmacsimon Swimming and Rowing Club continue to accumulate silverware at Cork County Coastal Rowing Final 2014

Kilmacsimon crews and supporters travelled east to Passage for the first time in almost 20 years last Sunday July 27th to compete in the 2014 Cork County Coastal Rowing Final, the largest coastal rowing event outside of the All Irelands, hence the earlier 9am start.

Of the 25 categories, Kilmacsimon had 20 crews  taking part.  In a day that saw very competitive rowing between the cream of rowing talent from East to West Cork, Kilmacsimon became County Champions in 4 categories, bringing home the gold; these included the U14 ladies (Claire Cummins, Sarah Neary, Saoirse McCarthy & Kate Murphy with cox Tadgh Collins); & U16 (Cathal Cummins, James Mulcahy, Jack Devine & David McCarthy, cox Tadgh Collins), who in a fine rowing display cruised to victory to take the County Champions title; also finishing 1st and becoming 2014 County Champions in a race which saw an all South West top 3, were the Senior Men (Alan Donovan, Ivone Buttimer, David Duggan, Sean Bennett, cox Tadgh Collins) who ultimately proved the most tenacious;  and not to be outshone, the Senior Ladies team (Emily Beecher, Laura O
