A unique new workshop taking place in Cork this month will show handy property owners how to build their very own cob cottage.
The word cob comes from an old English root meaning a lump or rounded mass. Cob building uses hands and feet to form lumps of earth mixed with sand and straw, a material that lends itself to organic shapes and curved walls and arches.
