New Parkrun on Bere Island in West Cork starting 30th August 2014...
As many of you will know, there are currently two Parkruns in Co.Cork at the moment every Saturday, one in Macroom and one in Clonakilty. These are free to participants who run a course that is 5kms long.
On Saturday the 30th August, a new Parkrun will be starting on Bere Island in West Cork. The 5k course will be the same as the one used for the Bere Island Midsummer Run held back on the 12th of July.
Other than that, there are no more details for the moment. Considering the size of the local population and the cost of getting the ferry across, I'd imagine that the numbers are likely to be very small, especially if it is on during the winter months.
However as a summer/autumn event, it would be great as part of a day or weekend away. Bere Island is a lovely spot on a nice sunny day.
