Quiz master Graham to help with village festival

BBC star Graham Norton will do the neighbourly thing and supporting the local festival in his adopted village.

The chat show host and comedian will serve as quiz master for a special charity table quiz in Ahakista in west Cork next Friday.

Mr Norton, the highest paid Irish-born TV star, bought a house in Ahakista several years ago and has become deeply involved in local community activities.

The table quiz is being organised as part of the Ahakista Aloha Regatta and Festival. Tickets for the quiz sold out in less than 10 minutes with the event now the undisputed highlight of the festival.

Mr Norton, a native of Bandon, previously had a holiday apartment in Cork city but relocated to Ahakista which he has described as his "dream getaway".

He now spends a substantial part of the summer in west Cork. Last month, he took to social media to extol the virtues of living in the scenic coastal community.
