West Cork Vintage Ploughing Association annual Charity Working Day

The West Cork Vintage Ploughing Association annual Charity Working Day will take place on Sunday September 14th at Rocksavage, Clonakilty West Cork by kind permission of Mr John Sutton himself a keen vintage enthusiast on beautiful site overlooking the sea.

The event consists of a ploughing match featuring the evolution of ploughing from horses, to vintage, to classic and modern tractors and ploughs all working side by side complimented by an area of tilling an sowing.

There will also be working displays of single chop silage harvesting, threshing display, corn cutting with trailed combine harvesters from the 50s and 60s and early self propelled combines from the 60s all working together in one field. There will be a display of vintage and classic tractors, cars and some trucks as well.

This year is the 75th Anniversary of the David Brown tractor brand in Ireland and this milestone will be celebrated and it is hoped to have all David Brown models on show. An invitation is extended to owners to bring along their David Browns to join in the celebrations.
