Valley View Free Range Eggs

Poultry in Bandon

In 1985 James & Mary O'Brien converted a number of their farm buildings into free range laying houses and an egg packing unit.

The free-range egg production facility and packing unit were approved and registered under the Department of Agriculture, and trading commenced under the Valley View Free Range Egg brand.

As their markets expanded to Cork City and the greater Munster region, Valley View needed to take on external producers to service the growing demand and local farmers converted some farm buildings into dedicated free range egg houses.

To maintain compliance with HACCP and the Bord Bia Quality Assurance Scheme and with growing market demand it was felt that a purpose built unit and more automated equipment was required. In 2000 Valley View Free Range Eggs moved to Cloughmacsimon Business Park to a purpose built unit and automated packing/grader.

Valley View are dedicated packers of only Free Range Eggs. Valley view birds are free to wander at will through fields of lush green grass and then roost in there cosy hen houses with specially designed verandas to protect from the wind and the rain. These are happy and healthy hens!
