Baltimore Pirate Festival 20th - 22nd June
Ahoy, me Hearties! Weigh Anchor and hoist the mizzen! Set your course for Baltimore, West Cork. Calling all ye Seadogs and Landlubbers to the event remembering the Sack of Baltimore by those scurvy dogs - the Barbary Corsairs.
It was in the year 1631 that the lily livered knave John Hackett was captured and bargained for his freedom by promising to lead the Corsairs straight for the port town of Baltimore. The defenceless townspeople were surprised in their beds as the pirates took to pillaging and plundering and kidnapping of men, women and children.
But avast ye now! On the weekend beginning the 20th of June the town will play host to all ye who believe a pirate
